The Silver Award is the second highest award of the Girl Scouts of the USA, and the highest award that a Girl Scout Cadette can earn.   The Silver Award Project can be done as an individual or as a small group. The project's objective must be to benefit the community and/or benefit Girl Scouting as a whole in some way.  Each Girl Scout is expected to contribute 50 hours to the project. The project is to be girl-led, but adults can advise and assist when necessary
If you know a Silver Awardee, please complete the Awards Submission Form on our website and upload photos to the site.  Alternatively, pictures and/or a brief explanation can be emailed to communityrelations@lynnhavenshoressu.com.

Emma Reed's Silver Award 2016
Beach Health Clinic Children's Area

Emma Reed earned her Silver Award in late summer 2016. Emma created a children's area in the waiting room at the Beach Health Clinic. Her project included a wooden bookshelf, child sized table, chairs and stools, picture books and puzzles for the children to use while they are in the clinic. Emma also created a brochure and video informing caretakers and parents of the educational benefits of reading and puzzling for young children.

Emma is pictured here delivering her project to the director of the Beach Health Clinic. The director said she never realized what was missing in the waiting room until Emma did her project for the clinic, and the director was overjoyed with the results.
